About Us
Laila's Legacy is dedicated to helping animals in North Carolina in need of rescue from kill shelters, neglect, abuse and abandonment. Through our rescue program, these animals receive routine veterinary care, socialization, and training when appropriate while we search for their new permanent home or provide permanent residency at Laila's Legacy. Our organization is working to achieve Healing through Outreach, Partnership, and Education (HOPE).
The HOPE of Laila's Legacy: Teaching kindness, compassion and respect of all beings and bringing awareness to the stop the harm that we as humans impose upon their lives.
Meet some our Family
KovuTofu
Kovu is riddled with masses and inoperable tumors. Despite that, he eats well and we have his pain well controlled. The love and honor to escort him through this stage of his life is a gift. Every day with him is a gift and valued more than the previous day.
Tulip
Tulip is a blind pig that endured a painful gunshot to her backside before getting rescued, despite the pain humans have put her through, she has a very forgiving and friendly soul. She spends her days munching on fresh fruits & veggies and basking in the sun, safe and happy.
Oscar
Oscar spent the majority of his life in a cage before being rescued. He developed Pneumonia as well as muscle & joint damage due to the life his previous owner had given him. He has been undergoing treatment for his health issues, and is loved, happy, and gaining his strength back every day.
Wee
Wee was so obese when he came here he couldn't walk 10-15 feet without pausing in severe respiratory distress. Thankfully, this happy boy has lost weight at a steady rate and is able to walk around, play, and sleep peacefully at his home here.
